I do realize that they are supposed to represent their wielder’s personality and I can see how they’re trying to do that. Twilight’s sword is extremely unconventionally shaped but it probably utilizes magic over sharp edges considering all the gems on it and whom the wielder is. Rainbow Dash’s sword could be practically used but its unique shape makes it clear that the blade is more for showing off, personally I think Dashie might have gone for something more practical but maybe she wouldn’t have. Rarity’s blade is a perfect fit for her, a beautifully made, custom shaped rapier that’s suited for elegant swordplay rather than brutal fighting. Applejack’s blade also fits really well: big, traditional and gets the job done. It is a bit more decorated than I’d imagine, with the decorative rope ends and that apple-shaped gem but it’s nice (except for those bite-marks, what are those?). Fluttershy’s blade is also really nice, not at all what I would have gone for for her but I like it nontheless. It’s made to show of her status as a knight yet doesn’t clash with her personality as all the delicate decorations on it would make it next to useless in battle. Pinkie’s sword is a bit of an love-hate scenario for me. On one hoof it is an extraordinarily decorative piece of still fully functional weaponry, something I think suits Pinkie well for some reason. But on the other side it does have such a thin handle that it would snap in half if you tried to lift the blade by the handle. Honestly though, except for that quite fatal flaw I think Pinkie Pie’s sword is the one I like the most.

Sharpness and durability are only half the issue. A sharp blade only has real cutting power if it’s weighted and balanced. Then there’s how comfortable it is to wield - to which none of these look particularly alluring.

Unless they fire magical beams, applies some magical affect on their target at contact or create a more conventionally shaped magical blade around themselves I don’t really see how they could be practical as swords.

The only ones of those swords that would be able to be used properly and not break from it are Applejack’s and possibly Rarity’s, the others are just too unconventional to be practical, nerveless functional.
