Don’t know about crappy N64 games, but this one was a masterpiece  

We had a head of the art department from Psygnosis/Sony Liverpool come down to a student/graduate games event we had at my uni a few years back. He gave a presentation about art and animation in the games industry. Then some of the students showed off some demos, renders and animations they had made for their final year projects, he was so impressed with the quality of the students work that he buggered off back to Liverpool during the first tea break.

They also did Shadow of the Beast and Lemmings.
