Same person?
Well, damn… to think, they could juggle jobs so well.
… oh, we are SOOOO done with this comment section. XD
Which makes the fact that they were a jazz band kind of a shame.
They had the greatest stripper-name, we ever knew.
…And there goes plausible deniability.
Which is why he occasionally strolls Ponyville at night, searching under lights for ponies to accept him.
Yeah,Spike doesn’t get much acceptance. Heck, having Twilight around to get on his case probably means he can’t even accept himself most of the time.

Sure, let’s go with ‘acceptance’.
@ShimmeringStallion
…Acceptance?
And Rarity’s the closest thing he’ll get to Omitted due to Safe-rating.
Yes, because he’s always so reliable. Just ask Applejack. :P And that’s If Rarity doesn’t find the idea.. let’s say unappealing.
…And that’s if the whole thing didn’t weird him out, since Twilight’s the closest thing he has to family.
Spike tries making a deal where, if he can get her with Twilight, he can work out some sort of “Friends with Benefits”-situation with Rarity.
… Makes sense to me!
Three, Twilight points out that the romance in question is nowhere near as forbidden as Rarity’s acting like (obviously doesn’t work for incest, but for issues of social class or student-teacher or species difference, that kind of thing) and to stop making a huge bucking deal out of it.
But yeah, I can see her getting Twilight involved. (Who she’d go to if she found herself attracted to Twilight, I’m not sure. Probably Fluttershy… Unless she has a lapse in judgement and talks to Spike about it.)
Rarity likely WOULD be, but I also think that she’d get Twilight into this sort of thing.
Twilight’s presence would cause one of two reactions; one, she argues against Rarity, saying that she’s read far too many romance novels.
Two, she agrees with Rarity, having read the same number of romance novels. As a result, she’d help Rarity with whatever she’d plan, hoping to cause some “storybook-scenario” with her poor ‘victims’.
Thanks for clarifying, because I thought you meant she was reading a bushel of apples.
Still, my point is that Rarity seems like she’d lend herself naturally to this kind of storyline. She’s cunning and willful enough to be able to get things rolling on her own and keep the storyline in motion, but her flair for melodrama means the forbidden-ness of the relationship would be in no danger of being undersold. I dunno, Rarity just seams like she’d be right at home in that sort of fic/comic/whatever.
They attempted to have Pinkie’s Role be more related to playing Devil’s Advocate, with Rarity being more ‘pure’ in her starting role.
Incidentally, I get the feeling that, as of the epilogue, things have likely changed greatly in terms of the situation, and especially the ‘innocence’ that Fluttershy saw in her ideas, let alone her actions.
As for the awkwardness of incest, well, it’s true that there’s a way things happen with regards to incest, and that this likely wasn’t a proper representation of it, but honestly, the LESS realistic, the more comfortable I am with reading it. The ‘body’ section might’ve been strung along at Discord’s whim, but Fluttershy basically used a means exclusively available to her, to take the man she wanted and showcase power over him in order to get her way.
I get the feeling that grabbing him and making out with him wouldn’t have quite worked towards positive results, in this particular situation, especially with how Stormcloak had viewed her actions prior to her using The Stare.
@Scrounge
Twilight’s busy with her head buried in a book… Applejack’s probably doing the same, only with a bushel of apples.
… it CAN’T be easy to read a book in a bushel of apples, but hey, she prefers it…
Maybe this story shouldn’t have been about Fluttershy.
I can’t help but think it’s Rarity who would be best suited for such a tale of scandal and desire, finding herself torn between her flourishing reputation and a forbidden passion! Does she bury her feelings for her (insert relative here) and return to the splendor of the Manehattan runway, to always wonder at the back of her mind what could have been? Or does she cast aside the life she’s known and invite the object of her illicit desire to run away with her to a place where nopony would ever find them? Love! Betrayal! All the melodrama you could ask for AND MORE! This is the story that would have been told… Had Rainbow Dash not staked her claim first. Ah well, time to go see if Applejack’s free tonight.
If this story wanted to hit the awkwardness, shame, and taboo of being so attracted to a family member, they should have cut out Fluttershy becoming a double-rapist(mind and body) and Pinkie’s side of things in general.
Those things hurt this story the most.
How so?
Yes, because their last argument went so well for him. :P
-in my opinion.
Whelp.
The story missed them all.
He knows how he’s supposed to see her, and he knows how she’s SUPPOSED to see him. And that said, she DOESN’T, and he already said she needed help, and that she was crazy.
I sure hope that’s all it is.
