I would have much rather have preferred Rarity sitting and talking to Spike about this, much like how she corrected Sweetie Bell in ‘Ponyville Confidential’.
 
It would have made for a much better ending, but no, they rushed the ending of an otherwise good episode.

Most likely because it would tell the viewers that Rarity really did have flaws that led to this.
 
Sad they didn’t carry on with that. Would have made a much better resolution.

You know, this part made me think that Rarity was at least aware of what was happening, but couldn’t control herself.
 
But then, once the spirit left, it turns out she has no recollection of the events…Kind of disappointed.
