As it has no right pronounciation, I am right, and so is the other guy.
Nah, that’s just what I want you to think. I’m actually an ancient corrupter that masks as a good person to slowly subvert the righteous to chaos and madness through innuendo, double speak, and “justifiable evil”.
Wait, did I just cop to that? I’m as bad as MillionDollarExtreme.
Actually no, I apologize to you. I didn’t see your post and pretty much just said mostly what you just said again lol so thank you Neo. You’re actually a cool guy
^ Lovecraft said that “the first syllable [of Kthûl’-hloo is] pronounced gutturally and very thickly. The u is about like that in Umberella; and the first syllable is not unlike ktul in sound, hence the h represents the guttural thickness.” H. P. Lovecraft, Selected Letters V, pp. 10 – 11.
KHU-TU-LU. The H represents the thick harsh sound of the word. Read more of a wiki before you run your mouths off guys. No one knows the exact pronunciation and Lovecraft himself always changed what he said anyway, the guy was a quack. Also, Star… don’t be a lazy ass and just go to the first page of Cthulhu on Wiki you could find. Do some actual research…
Cthulhu[1] is a fictional cosmic entity that first appeared in the short story “The Call of Cthulhu”, published in the pulp magazine Weird Tales in 1928. The character was created by writer H. P. Lovecraft.
From wikipedia, I guess I showed you wrong.
We had this argument once before on anoyher comment line. Lovecraft himself gave several spelling pronunciations for the name, though gave Kthûl’hu as the “closest that the human vocal apparatus can come to reproducing the syllables of an alien language.” For a similar reason, Cthulhu was later popularized for a similar reason as well as endorsement by multiple popular sources.
But, the spelling and pronunciation mean nothing, even in lore. It’s the intent more than the name itself that matters.
Submit to the biomass, and your suffering will end.
Ha, shows what you know. The ritualistic spelling of Cthulhu is Ktulu. I’m a Mythos fanatic. I bear madness that comes from that which only could be described with no words. And that which bleeds from the very stars a blackened ichor stains my mind with images of unholy deities and signs of elders! IA! IA KTULU!
