Been a Transformers fan since G1. Worse, I remember the treatment Hasbro gave Transformers Animated, due to the first Bayformers movie (Animated toys were delayed in their release, in favor of the first movie’s toys) and the second Bayformers movie (Animated was canned after 39 episodes, lots of toys got a very limited release in the stats (Blackout, Skywarp), and some would never see the light of day (Hotshot, Triple Changer Megatron)). So, yeah. Deep down at the core, even Friendship is Magic exists just to sell toys. Hell, FiM finally got their own Black Repaints.

And the G3 breezies themselves were similar to the flutter ponies from G1.

Y’know, we’re going to see alot of new fanart under the “breeziefied” tag, I imagine.
 
Also, weren’t the breezies around sense G3? Yeah, yeah, I know, but it’s kinda nice to see old-school MLP concepts come back. (Now we just need to the Smooze to return.)
 
Heck, the new Nick TMNT is bringing back some obscure TMNT characters. We got Chrome Dome, and Mutagen Man back, and some others not seen sense the ’90s.

Animated cartoons exist mostly because they are sponsored By the toy companies which turn the fictional characters starring them into toys that can be sold to gain profit.
 
That is how capitalistic economy works. And this show is a great example how it is done right both financially and creatively.

To be fair, there’s still a strong need to make a quality cartoon while simultaneously advertising those toys.
 
I don’t personally feel anything too bad has happened to the show yet, since DHX is good at giving Hasbro what they want while minimizing impact on the show, but if the future the quality of the show suffers to sell toys, then there is indeed a problem.
 
They can sell toys without making negative impacts on the show; it’s only fortunate that they have been most successful with that so far.

I mean, the episode is dedicated to the Breezies. Of COURSE we’re gonna get a species swap in there.
