I doubt he meant it like that,to me it seemed like he really did admire Applejack but didn’t know how to talk with and gave her what he thought would be complement(after all he also, admired her while working, was fascinated by the dirt at her farm, and even wanted to live with her later As a farmer).Beside I never thought that comment was rascist,I think people just incorporated our super-political-correct world where even mentioning race in a sentence rascist.I think the ponies see race differently, and it’s okay to casually call a pony by what they are.How else could they say Ponyville was an “earth pony”town when a bunch of Pegasi and unicorns live there too.

Yes that was sexist of Applejack. Although her character has always had undertones of “holier than thou art” and “do as I say, not as I do” if you ask me.

Trenderhoof sounded incredibly condescending and insincere when he said that. Also it’s sort of a “you are a credit to your race” deal (ie Michael Scott racism)

I don’t know, if saying that admiring the work ethic of earth ponies is rascist does that mean that saying “all those unicorns up there in canterlot are just too stuffy”is also rascist and didn’t Applejack once say that to spike “ain’t that just like a boy, can’t handle feeling( or something)”. Does that make Applejack sexist?
