Indeed, hence the “hilarious in hindsight” tag. The drama-comments also are kinda funny looking back on them, ‘cause “EqG2: Rainbow Rocks” got alot of praise from the fanbase, even from some who didn’t care for the first movie.

Because this fandom is 1) gullible and 2) over-reactive. This is what a lot of the trollers live for - something that has the barest ounce of truthfulness to see how the fandom will react.

Dude, Nintendo won’t even let American animation/comic companies touch their properties anymore. (I heard they even turned down offers from Archie Comics to do a Mario, Kirby, or Metroid comic mini-series. Shame ‘cause I like Archie’s Sonic & Megaman comics.)  
They turn down almost every licensing/merchandise offer they get, unless it’s some lame product like fruit snacks, or Super Mario Cambell’s Soup.
 
What makes people think they’ll let Hasbro/DHX use Kirby in an unrelated pony show?  
I heard they almost turned down the original DiC Super Mario cartoons to. (Interestingly, DHX now owns them.)
