Description
If I posted this a few months ago, it probably would have been under fire due to the alicorn drama. I believe Derpibooru is ready for this theory.

The problem is, this wasn’t a meaningful change. She was already the right hoof woman of Princess Celestia, and already one of the most powerful characters in the show, so it didn’t add anything.
He/she didn’t say this particular choice was a good idea, in fact they said it was unnecessary and probably not the best solution, the never the less they so still like it for what it is.
That’s a classic example of the Politician’s Fallacy.
>Something must be done. This is something. Therefore, this must be done.
Even if we accept your premise that mixing up the status quo is necessary to keep the show from getting “stale”, that doesn’t mean that anything and everything that does so is a good idea.
(I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you, and I have no idea how you feel about what I’m about to say, but it inspired me to…)
It’s unnecessary, and perhaps far from the best solution possible, but I honestly think the show’s better for Princess Twilight Sparkle.
Things can only go on for so long without getting stale before breaking breaking the status quo.
And to be honest, as of Flight to the Finish, I’ve realized I’m actually more interested in the Cutie Mark Crusaders than the main cast, just because we haven’t gotten to explore them as much. They don’t feel as rote. And the main cast does feel rote, by now.
It’s more the lack of explanation that bothers me. The series has just not answered anything about why.
Sure, definitely less possible questions, but still makes little sense.
The whole alicorn things just literally doesn’t bother me at all. I’ve never disliked the idea, in fact I like alicorn Twilight. I guess it’s just the only weird choice the writers made that doesn’t bother me.
It at least raised less questions.
Like why only Twilight got to reap the benefit of the spell, and not her friends.
That doesn’t really make sense either.
I will admit that alicorns made more sense when Lauren worked on the show, as in their was, is and will only ever be two alicorns, Luna and Celestia.
Ignoring the myriad other points I could make, see: Princess Celestia*‘s response to that exact scene (“There will be time for all of that later.”).
Also see: her response in the immediately preceding scene, the one in question for the picture we’re commenting on (“I’ll still be here to help and guide you.”).
*Twilight Sparkle’s near life-long personal mentor, a revered, highly regarded and otherwise impossibly experienced example of the position in question, one of the only three we know to have existed at all in the past few hundreds, if not thousands, of years, all of whom are close within Twilight Sparkle’s social circle
No, there is the risk of that. You’ve been walking that line for quite some time now, just to let you know.
I’m pretty sure I meant Derpibooru. In other places outside of /b/, there is always an impending risk of a banhammer for causing drama for the sake of ego. In Derpibooru, you don’t have that constant risk. I suppose it’s to expected to re-emerge somewhere, considering where bronies came from. They were originally called /b/ronies.
Pretty sure you mean “the internet”.
It’s pretty weird for them to laugh at that…
And they laughed at her!
Oh, how wacky of her to want to read up the details on this job she was just thrust into with no warning. That’s our Twilight!
Her first response was to ask if there was a book she could read about being a princess.
She wasn’t freaking out, but that’s because Princess Celestia was there.
EVERY speculation has to have drama, especially if it is a touchy thing like alicorns. Welcome to the unbridled egotistical nature of Derpibooru.
Geez
She changed species. That takes a lot out of a person, rush of emotions and thoughts and all. Also it’s hard to be shocked right after something like that happened.
Knowing Twilight’s way of overthinking everything, she would instantly react with panic and a great deal of questions if she had no clue. She reacted rather calmly about being a princess.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Oh wait, you’re serious. Let me laugh even harder!
Here we go with what? This was Twilight’s reaction to being told she is a princess. Also, are you trying to bait? Alicorn drama is over.
