BTW SF64 is coming to WiiU Virtual Console soon. Though, oddly for Europe first, before America, and even Japan.

‘Cause I imagine many, even those who loved this game as a kid couldn’t remember all their official last-names. (Most weren’t even mentioned in the game, and just mentioned in official manuals/player’s guides/Nintendo Power sources, and/or in SSB.) I remember Slippy’s uncle Beltino Toad was only just mentioned in the SF64 instruction manual, (as apparently the inventor of the Blue Marine) so I was quite surprised when he appeared as a full NPC in “Star Fox Assault.”  
So apparently, the sources in the official manuals are canon, even if they aren’t in the game.
 
I used to frequent SF message boards back when the series was more popular.

A random goof, makes a mess sometimes, still awesome and the heart of the team.
 
Peppy-Soaring  
Gifted, but humble. Tries to be taken seriously, but his dialogue tends to sound funny and memetastic.
 
Falco-Spitfire  
Insufferable show off, all talk but with skills and abilities barely on par with everyone else.
 
Fox-Rainbow Dash  
Better flier than everyone else COMBINED…can pretty much do everything alone faster and with better results. Despite his flagrant superior skills still looks up at the two senior members of the team.

Huh, I never thought of that. From what the game info’ says Falco’s arrogance gets in the way of his flight skills, and such, which is the only thing keeping him from being a better pilot then Fox McCloud.

It makes perfect sense…for all that talk about Falco being an amazing ace of the skies and the best of the best, he certainly doesn’t seem all that better than Slippy or Peppy in the game itself…hell, saving his ass in the very first stage of the game is almost treated as a secret by the game standards!
 
Now think on the wonderbolts and how they are all lights and flash but failed at pretty much everything when they have tried to save the day.
