It actually does already have Pac Man, and other Namco characters in it, and in the previous 2 Mario Kart arcade games.

Kinda funny, that Nintendo doesn’t regard the Namco arcade games, with “Mario Kart 7. (Which would technically be the 9th game if you count the first 2 arcade games when it came out. The third wasn’t out yet.)
And the WiiU one is going to be called “Mario Kart 8,” but counting all 3 Namco arcade games, it’s technically the 11th Mario Kart game.

I guess the arcade games don’t count as part of the main MK series. (Shame we’ll likely never see any home console releases of them either.)
