The Luna with Pipsqueak was more of Celestia(and others) thinking they where having some intimate relationship when they where just good friend, it was the best he did as it wasn’t his mean spirited way of treating the ones he “likes”.  
He’s also the one to blame for the dumbest version of Sweetie to ever be Sweetiepoo, one I’m glade is dead now, and in one of the few times he did something with a semblance of common sense was he knew how bad it was and stopped, even thought he actually did it where it was kind of funny.

Gavalanche was obsessed with a lot of things, few of them good. Dash abusing Scootaloo, Rarity abusing Sweetie Belle - making her live under the stairs and trying on two different occasions to drown her, the idea that Sweetie is actually Rarity’s daughter and is retarded, and (most infamously) pairing Luna up with Pipsqueak.
 
He never finished that comic. In fact he dropped off the face of the earth this past Spring. Wonder whatever happened to him.
