background:  
needle dee was born and raised in whinnyville, and has never left the town. she is very close with her family, especially her father flash wave. flash wave used to be a wonderbolt in his younger years, but when he met electric heart he knew that he wanted to spend all his time with her & raise a family.
 
being the first born, needle got a lot of attention from both her parents while growing up. neon flicker was born when needle was 12 years old, and so she got very jealous of all the attention he got. in order to get her parents attention, she ran away from home. seeing as whinnyville is far from other towns, she went into the forest where she unfortunatelt ran into an ursa minor. her father found her just in time, and managed to scare off the urse. although, she lost both her right ear and her right eye. after that incident, they had a deep talk and became closer than ever.
