Yeah, the problem is I am regretting my past.

I am 24 now, I have this shitty paying job that I can’t quit or I’m done.
Basically I had all my childhood and teens to draw, but no!
I wasted it playing games and hoping I would get these magical drawing skills by watching other artists work. Basically expecting things to fall on my lap.

Now I have so little time and willpower to actually practice art anymore.
I know that sounds like excuses, but I need to sleep too.
But hey, thanks for replying. Derpibooru was probably the last place I thought I would get advice about this.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

We live in an age where getting pointers and hits at becoming more skillful in something is literally at our fingertips, but as @Mason Mouse, practice makes perfect.
While I was attending high school and college I used to scribble away all sorts of things in my notebooks and textbooks, so thats a nice way to catch up on some practice, plus the more boring a lecture is the more creative the final product will be.

This tip only works if Ur still attending something like a high school or college, I got a 9 to 5 job (more or less) and Im lucky if I can get a smoke break when its a busy day…

This art however makes me…

It’s not a factor of time, it’s a factor of effort. Doing 5 drawings every day will get you there faster than 1 drawing every day. As the old saying goes, everyone has about 5000 bad drawings in them that they need to get out before the good drawings will show!

Of course you need to factor in natural ability as well. Some people are just more adept at it than others but ANYONE can learn.

And yes, this is an awesome piece. I love watercolor.

Everyday I see more great art and become more and more jealous of these artists..

I am practicing, slowly..
Hard to say, does it take 5, 10 or 20 years to even get anywhere this.

Oh damn, sorry, rambling again.
I always get like this when I see picture I really like.
