Depends on context, but “lacking for” usually means that they still have some.
I think that earth ponies actually have a decent spread, it’s just different from human weapons.
Not as much as it seems. Aside from the dexterous hooves that ponies may or may not be supposed to possess, lances can be strapped to their sides, earth ponies can hold things with their tails, and attaching weapons to helmets and hooves would prove quite effective.
They have options. The part where the other tribes really win out is special attack powers, which the earth ponies don’t really have.
I’ve got more to say, but I think that I’ll make an actual thread for it…

I was thinking of sketching out some feasible weapons ponies might use - unicorns would basically be human weapons without handles since they can just hold onto the edges directly with their magic, pegasus weapons could be strapped to their hooves since they don’t need to stand on them, earth ponies would be lacking for options - but then I realized nobody but me cares…
I can understand those spears use by pegasi since they can hover above the ground so they can keep them with their front legs, but swords in mouths just doesn’t feel right.
Here I was thinking he looked sort of like Jack Sparrow with a peg leg.
His appearance isn’t very typical of a Pirate.
