Honestly, man, this “Royal Tea Party” looks like something straight from the Ghostbusters. As they hinted to Giddilee in earlier pages, when you gather together a whole bunch of hyperactive mages-in-training things tend to go downhill REAL fast. I’d bet this isn’t the first time that Celestia had to play SWAT to help the magical tots.
We know from the synopsis blurb it is about Celestia helping Inkwell “get her groove back”, so to speak, so we’re going to see hopefully her lighter side.
Before anyone rushes to defend it, I know we don’t know the whole story yet. I will still purchase it and reserve judgement until I read it all.
Someone make a ponified Ripley and Newt stat.
Chibi Moon and Chibi Jupiter.
Amy Mebberson, who did the Nightmare Forces arc and who snuck in the 5 Sailor Scouts, is a known SM fan and the artist here, so being the Chibi versions here would come as no surprise.
Thinking about it. It would be kinda awesome if the show did have more background references.
Whiners?
Eh, let them whine. It doesn’t detract from anything and makes the comic fun in my opinion….And why did you bring up sprinkles? Sprinkles are awful.
What if one didn’t know any of the references?
If an episode of the show had a fifth of the amount of references Price puts in one comic, people would whine endlessly.
It’s to the point where people read for the references, not the story. Like eating a bowl of sprinkles topped with ice cream.

This proves my theory that Equestria is the focal point of all universes.
Reminds me Palutena ’s troubles in the Kid Icarus anime short Nintendo made.
