Also, note that Sweetium appears to be only a proton and an electron, i.e. hydrogen. Most of the universe is therefore made of dark matter, dark energy, and Sweetie Belle.

Well, technically it’s the electron which gets excited rather than the nucleus. You can excite nucleons too, but that’s slightly different.
