The shorts were similar, but the characters retained more or less their personalities from the old show, rather than the distorted versions from the new one, so that could be a factor.

But while we’re on the subject of DC Nation shorts, anyone else think a Super Best Friends Forever show would be one of the best things in the history of things?

@GLord
I cared less about Young Justice than I did about Green Lantern: The Animated Series. That’s the one I was really unhappy to lose.

I’ll grant that it can be pretty stupid, but it’s funny, so I guess I can live with it.

Well. One’s called SparkleFace and the other’s patterned on FireFly from G1, which became a pretty colorful main character this time round.

And people fucking love to draw pictures of those two engaged in lesbian horse sex.

I freaked out when I realized that those ponies are Starlight and Melody from MLP: Tales…

Two things about the “New teen titans” shorts made them more appealing to me than Teen Titans Go!: one, the traditional animation, and two, the fact that they built on the continuity of the old series and kept the characterizations consistent. But that’s personal opinion, and I’m glad there’s people who like the new series.

(And I can’t deny that the Trigon episode of TTG! was hilarious.)

I think TTG is a fine show on it’s own. It’s not a continuation of the old show and really shouldn’t be treated as some kind of “revival.” It’s weird though how people LOVED those “New Teen Titans” shorts on DC Nation (which were pretty much the same thing except animated traditionally rather than Flash) but yet the moment they make an entire series based on the concept of those shorts suddenly everyone flips their shit.

I loved the Teen Titans series from a decade ago, and I can appreciate that Teen Titans Go! is generally funny and pretty well animated. The fact that they pretty much disregard the characterization of the earlier series when it’s convenient for the sake of comedy is enough to keep me from watching it regularly, but I’m not going to say it’s awful as a result.

I don’t know, I think the show has it’s moments. Maybe I just don’t hate it, because I didn’t watch the original “Teen Titans” much so I’m not blinded by nostalgia. I think it’s just supposed to be a self-parody of itself. (Y’know, like a PG-rated “PONY.MOV”)

I think they rerun some episodes to much though like “Ghost Boy.”

I’ll forever use this as an illustration of a overly comical spoof that did nothing but twist and mock the source material and didn’t get its fans nearly as butthurt as TTG haters.

I really dont think the show is funny, and is overall a huge downgrade from a series that could balance humor and seriousness rather well, but this is cute.
