I know what you mean, I tend to prefer non-clop over clop simply because most of the time I feel like reading I’m not particularly interested in that part, though good writing trumps all. Also, considering Rainbow has practically evolved into a surrogate sibling for Scoots, she could easily join the shocked big sis party XD

Not as uncommon as CMC OT3. I swear, I can’t find anything for the three of them that isn’t flat-out clop. Not condemning clop or anything, just saying I think they could be cute in an actual relationship.

I digged around my pony folder and found some omniship texts lying around. Here is a tumblr post I copied some time ago:

So, um, confession time. I have only written Omniship once or twice myself, because it is actually kind of hard? Because you are juggling multiple overlapping relationships all at once, versus a single one-to-one relationship? So take what I say with a grain of salt or two or ten?  
Anyhoo. Omniship. On the plus side, all of the Mane Six are well-established as very close friends by this point, so there’s a solid basis on which to build the Omniship. I tend to think of Twilight as a good character to serve as catalyst. She’s the one who really brought everypony together, she’s unofficial leader of their little group, and she’s an organizer by nature and practice. I don’t think it has to be Twilight who kicks off the Omniship, but if you’re looking for someone who’s a likely candidate, I think Twi might just be your mare.  
It’s probably more realistic to have just two of the Mane Six pair off, then slowly bring in the others, though it’s probably easier and quicker to have the Omniship form all at once. If going for the all-at-once option, I think it’d be a good idea to have some sort of explanation, such as “the Elements of Harmony had a mystical role” or “near-deadly battle throws everyone’s feelings into stark perspective.” Something like that.  
Last but not least, I think if a writer just remembers who the characters are and how they act and how they speak, they won’t go far wrong. Omniship brings with it the promise of great drama and great angst, as well as multi-pony make-outs, and you will never find a bigger defender of drama and angst than me. However. It’s probably easy to give into the lure of angst for angst’s sake, and that way lies OOC characterizations and the Valley of Bad Fan Fiction.  
I have no idea if any of this is helpful (really, RWL and Baby Seal Burritos are much more skilled with Omnishipping than I am), but I tried! I am sorry if I failed! In penance, allow me to leave you with a few Omniship examples that I think are really super:

The Omniship Omnibus

I’m rather surprised I haven’t found a fanfic where this happens. Either I’m not looking in the right place, or it hasn’t been written yet.

You know, i can totaly see a pologamy marriage of these six with a brony who loves them ALL in that way.(The Brony’s Harem) But me, just Pinkie’s fine. ^^
