Actually, the T-72 isn’t a bad tank. The T-72A was one of the first Soviet tanks fitted with ceramic armor, while the T-72B had the thickest armor of any Soviet tank, surpassing even the T-80. The reason Iraqi T-72s performed so poorly during the Gulf War was that Iraq’s T-72 fleet was made up of “export model” T-72s (T-72, T-72M, T-72M1), which had worse fire control and thinner armor than Soviet or Warsaw Pact T-72s. Instead of a layer of ceramic like the T-72A, the T-72M1 has a layer of sand between the turret and its frontal armor. Iraq’s T-72 fleet was also worn out after seeing eight years of non-stop combat during the Iran-Iraq War and Iraq was unable to acquire spare parts due to a combination of U.N. sanctions and Iraq’s near bankruptcy after the Iran-Iraq War.

Heyheyhey, the T-72 works just fine, buddy. If you’ve lost a Hellfire, there is nothing better in the world at catching them than a T-72. And they’re always so delighted about it, too, they hop up in the air and flip their lid with happiness!
Damn thing might actually work better with Derpy at the controls.
