Very true, sir. I just like to try to stay positive about these kind of things.
IT’S ALL A CONSPIRACY MAN! SHE’S WATCHING OUR EVERY MOVE FROM HER SECRET MINI-DIMENSION THINGY!
Nah, but really I just think she’s a little too uppity. She could at LEAST have told Twilight SOMETHING about this notion of sprouting wings ahead of time, rather than just saying, basically, “Surprise! Ready for your coronation!?”
I just got my jimmies back, please don’t try to rustle them.
What you said about time progression, however, you’re right. I just think that what you’re making of it is kind of depressing. I’m all for depressing fiction every once in a while, but not with best princess.
You seem a little paranoid about Celestia. Next thing I know your gonna talk about how the Changeling Invasion was an inside job and how Luna never landed on the moon.
First of all, ew, Twilight fanboy. :P
Second of all, Cadence still isn’t old. That she was younger-looking a short while ago and is now mature proves nothing, as it was probably the very same process for Celestia and Luna. And from the way it looks to me, Celestia’s not quite as benevolent as you seem to think. She’s secretive, manipulative, and takes what she wants. If she decides you’re the next undying princess, guess what!
Last but not least, it’s like I said before, the show will most likely never have any kind of time progression, so we’re left to make of it what we will.
Cadance was shown as an Alicorn at around Twilight’s current age. This shows that she ages. It also suggests that Cadance and Twilight are not the only ponies to be raised to Alicorn status. Celestia and Luna are the only ponies shown to not age at all, so if they did grant others Alicorn status, they have likely passed away by the time of the show.
I’m not (intentionally) basing any of my arguments on McCarthy’s tweets, but how are they meaningless if she writes a lot of the episodes?
This is a show made for children. They aren’t going to make her immortal and watch her friends die. Celestia isn’t that cruel. And Equestria Girls has already shown that Twilight hasn’t abandoned her friends while drunk with power.
Twilight Sparkle, in Season 4 and beyond, will always be best pone.
Is Cadence old? Didn’t think so. That particular detail is still unresolved, and will probably remain so forever. McCarthy’s tweets are fairly meaningless compared to what actually happens in the show.
And then there’s this horsefucker.
lol j/k
Au contraire. Wonderbolts Academy was dismal, Spike At Your Service sucked big time, and Putting Your Hoof Down is without a doubt the worst episode in the entire series, second to none.
Right, that makes more sense. Mare-do-well was a gold mine of missing opportunities.
Pretty much just “Mare-Do-Well”.
“Hearth’s Warming Eve” gets a pass, “Dragon Quest” was just meh, and “Wonderbolt’s Academy” wasn’t all that bad.
People hate Merriweather episodes?
>Any episode written by Merriwether Williams
I actively participate in those ones.
I’m talking about the ones that supposedly “meant it,” but yeah I know. Ride, never ending, Mister Bones, yada yada.
Which is what about 80% of all people who have ever said “Fuck this, I’m done” end up doing. One does not simply get off the ride.
Also, OP missed “Any episode written by Merriweather Williams.”
Twilicorn is only the “worst” cause we had like 2-3 mins of her being an alicorn princess and all the explanation was prolonged to S4. Even Twi WANTED infos but Trollestia said “nope, there´s time for that later. Like in the fall/winter of 2013. You have to be patient till then my faithful student.”. <_<
As for the actual idea to make Twi an aliorn/a princess that´s soemthing tons of people expected since S1EP1 and which even Lauren had planned in this or in a similar form since S1EP1. She said so herself.
Also it prevents the show to become stale and repetivie as well as giving it new possibilities for future episodes like going out from Equestria and into other countries and stuff like finding out how the history of the alicorns which Twi is now one from and thus ofc wants to know what she has to deal with as well as world building on how Equestria functions in society and goverment and etc.
I’m pretty much in the same boat. Nothing except the videos being taken down has really affected my enjoyment of the show. Quality to me is still good, I liked equestria girls, the twilicorn hate reeks of simply phobia on change which all fandoms suffer from, derpy was and should always have been an easter egg in the main show and anything more wasn’t needed, and I don’t go on 4chan.
And yet, the drama’s still here.
how can you even stand these guys
>I expect it’ll end up being the worst of the lot.
Nah. Most of the loudest complainers (pretty much the “I’m done, I quit” group) are already gone and aren’t coming back… unless they go back on their promise to stop supporting and watching the show.
When Derpygate was at its worst, Ponibooru was still going strong, so I’m sure a lot of those images never showed up here.
Given that we’ll almost certainly see a resurgence of the Twilicorn drama with the start of season 4, though, I expect it’ll end up being the worst of the lot.
