I have thought of Trixie’s biggest trick being a dragon illusion.
I concur. I also think this was evident in “magic duel” as Trixie’s challenges were more so trickery and morphing instead of a straight laser fight.
The thing that has me curious is Trixie = showmare = Tricks. When I think of Tricks, I start to think of Illusions and Conjurations. That part makes me think of Princess Luna since she’s the princess of the night. I would imagine her taking on Trixie as her protege and making the show mare into a child of the night.
As you say, Trixie’s magic would be different from Twilight since Twilight’s is straight up spells like Arcane magic. Trixie on the other hand, she would be more about powerfully strong illusions and casting spells to conjure up creations. Some spells would be real. Others would be such powerful illusions they would seem real.
Example I would think of is Trixie making a dragon appear, and it being such a powerful spell that the creature/entity the spell is unleashed upon would imagine feeling the draconic illusion’s scales vs what would really happen as the creature’s appendage would simply pass through it.
That sound interesting, I’ve always seen those two as representatives of two different aspects of magic: Arcane and Trick magic. Swirl invented most of the spells of both , but different sides of his family passed down and practices only one.
(hooray for trying to hard to make a story:P)
Wonder if Seth would throw a fit if Trixie were to become a princess…
It would explain the hats.
I rather like this idea.
