aug 23 2023 update: amp’s ref has been redrawn & improved in several ways, mainly just better show style on my end. however i’ve now included a guide for her hair colors, because they honestly always confuse me and i think it’s kind of necessary haha. the old version of this reference (you can see it here: sta.sh/016i66hr3oke) is honestly so bad!!! it was one of the first ones i had done and there were several challenges. amp has a pretty difficult hair shape, and technically like 7 colors in it to boot. she’s also meant to be taller than average, and in trying to portray that, i think her body looks really strange in the old version. lastly, her eyes came out so strange in the old one too! i think it was my first time really working with the rarity eye shape. anyway, whew, she’s in much better shape now :)

she is… i think very smart, but i’m not totally sure what her talent will be. i believe she will be doing advanced studys & things though, maybe. she is antisocial and kind of intimidating. i kind of think of her as maybe having similar personality traits to rainbow dash, especially in terms of being bold & quick to push back.

design notes:
- she is taller & thinner than average (compared to mane 6)
- rarity style eye shape instead of round
- can have round or slit pupils
- sparkles throughout mane & tail
the design seems to have come from instagram, however the original creator likely changed usernames over time and i’m not sure where they are :(

from there, i’m not sure of the whole journey, but she was largely characterized by a past owner who i bought her from! they gave her the cutiemark, which i’ve kept so far.
