Although, I’ll admit, MOTHER3 was more psycho fear while MOTHER2 was jumpy; like the zombie girl sequence. Somehow that scared me more than Giygas. :\
I would say so because it’s generally pretty upbeat and light until this motherfucker comes out of nowhere and drags the tone straight into the depths of hell.

The Dark Dragon revives them all in the end, even people who died because of Porky.
Even Claus is returned to normal.
Everyone dies in Mother 3. And I mean EVERYONE!
Mother 3 is darker than Earthbound sure, but I think Earthbound has more piss scary…but that’s just me.
Hm, didn’t realize the MOTHER series’ progression coincides with MLP’s until after posting that. <_<
