Yes,she’s canon,but not in the show (yet? or probably never?).She’s toy line exclusive.
 
I’ve been discussing with people the same with Lily Blossom and Star Swirl (The actual G4 Star Swirl,not the allusion we have in the show) and their argument is that they are just toy exclusives thus they are not canon in the show.
 
Those very same people believe Skyla is canon.Well,they are pretty much getting something of their own medicine now.Because she’s not.
 
So until McCarthy decides to make another mistake or Hasbro ask the staff for another product placement,Skyla is nothing but just another toy line exclusive pony.

I’d rather be princess Cadance (there’s a reason this is my (gr)avatar), since I’d be in charge of a place made of crystals (yay crystals), who’s main exports are vuvuzelas and lens-flare generators (I’d make a killing of selling them to JJ Abrams), and having access to the Crystal Heart™ superweapon, which I could then use to go out and conquer hate-filled places for shits and giggles since I’d be conquering them with The Power of Love.
