Summer Spark is a 33 year old Kirin mare who lives and works in Dazzledell Hollow after formally emigrating from the Kirin village. She is known by the locals as a kind and friendly mare who loves nothing more than to spend time around new ponies and peoples of all kinds.
As mentioned above, Miss Spark was involved in the efforts to locate a missing Kirin mare named Spring Ember, who ran away from her home years ago, subsequently escaping into wider Equestria. After finally tracking her down all the way to Canterlot, Summer decided to let Spring do as she wanted rather than dragging her all the way home.
Rain Shine wasn’t happy, about this of course, but also saw no good reason to bring Spring Ember home if she didn’t want to be there- it would have just made the young mare resentful and angry, and no Kirin wants that on their conscience.
In Dazzledell Hollow, where she made her new home, Summer doesn’t have a formal job, per se, but instead weaves elegant wicker baskets and crafts other, authentic Kirin trinkets made of stone that she sells for very modest prices.
She also likes to assist in the local schoolhouse when possible and help educate the town’s children. Here, Summer specialises in teaching children about other species that exist in Equestria and beyond and loves to help with arts and crafts, too.
Physically, Summer is strong, fit, and healthy as tends to be the norm for most Kirin. She stands at 4 feet exactly, or almost 122 centimetres, and weighs in at 92 pounds, or 41.73 kilogrammes. Her voluminous mane is notably dense and curly, even for a member of her notoriously “floofy” species.
Magically, she is strong for her species, and has a great command of pyrokinetic spells in particular, but also has a decent grasp of nature and divination magical disciplines as well. These last two disciplines make her fantastic at tracking, and were instrumental in her being chosen to track Spring Ember down.
It is the opinion of the Bureau that if pushed to fury, and with the particular set of skills that she has, this mare could indeed be quite the opponent for anyone who is not versed in dealing with magical threats, let alone an enraged Nirik. However, we do appreciate the fact that Summer Spark has gone on record saying that “that is a part of my life that I never wish to revisit.”
When it comes to more personal matters, we at the Bureau have, thus far, been unable to ascertain any information as to her sexual orientation or preferences. It can be inferred at the very least that with how open she is regarding other species than her own that she doesn’t care if a potential partner is a Kirin or not. This, however, is not a fact, so if any relevant information comes to light at a later date, it will be appended to this file.
