If you are gonna use this art in any official manner or for your stories please ask first. This is my take on Grover with my alterations along with the fact he is anthro.
Grover VI; After Becoming Emperor of the Griffonian Empire at a young age, retaking what was once lost he arrived at Griffonstone castle to deal with renovations. During them and at a time of personal troubles he would encounter the trinity of gods; Boreas, Arcturius, and Eyr. They would answer his questions and tell him that every generation of Grovers pays a penance for the deal made by Grover I: For his family to be gifted strength, intelligence, and compassion one of the gods would inhabit his body for a time to enjoy the pleasures of a mortal.
Boreas the god of leadership would enjoy the body of Grover I. Arcturius the god of warfare would enjoy the body of Grover II during his expansion of the empire. Eyr the god of family and fertility would enjoy the third as he allowed the empire to prosper. All was equal until the loss of The Idol of Boreas: a divine token of his family’s godly blessing. Grover V suffered without any blessing, but now? The new emperor has regained the faith of the gods and resurrected a dying empire. But Alas the Idol that united all the griffons, deified the Grover family under the mandate of heaven was still lost. Where? in the ravine not far from here, down towards the pit of the cruel god of madness Maar.
Grover VI, determined to regain the idol for all Griffonkind wished to utilize the penance with the blessed gods. Boreas would inhabit his body as they both would descend into the ravine.
However Maar was aware of this, and heard everything all too well. During the planning stages of the expedition, the renovations of the castle uncovered an ancient crown. It seemed to have belonged to King Grover of Griffonstone before the empire. It was all pristine and well kept. Grover, curious of history and Boreas wishing to relish a crown, decided to place it on his head to see if it would fit him. What a terrible mistake, it was not King Grovers Crown but the crown of a king who swore to Maar long ago. Within one failed swoop the leader of the Gods would become corrupted by Maars spell. Boreas would then cement his control over Grover, corrupting and soon merging with him. And how best to corrupt a Griffon then to let them indulge in their mortal pleasures.
