This drawing is a tribute to the late YouTube user MelodicPony which took over 35 hours to complete. For those of you that don’t know, MelodicPony was a Czech musician who created his own orchestrated music inspired by the series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. If you’re wondering why I have the characters Octavia and Princess Luna on here, it’s because Octavia was the pony he used for his profile pic on YouTube and Princess Luna is a reference to “Luna’s Determination”, his final video that he uploaded and in my opinion, it’s his best work of music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp26Ozw0JbY He only made 6 videos on his channel but for the little he was able to produce, he created some of the most beautiful and astonishing music I’ve ever heard. Seriously, his talent was practically on par with music legends like John Williams or Hans Zimmer.
However, he stopped uploading videos in 2014 which lead to rumors to he passed away. By 2016, these rumors were sadly confirmed to be true as most sources say that he died from a stroke at around the age of 27. He left us in obscurity with a relatively small following on YouTube and never got to achieve worldwide success like he so rightfully deserved. Even today, almost nothing is actually known about him. It’s a real tragedy that he not only passed away so young, but with hardly any recognition of his outstanding musical talent. Who knows what he would’ve been able to accomplish if he didn’t leave this world in such an untimely manner. However in 2023, the Prauge Film Orchestra created a live performance of “Princess Twilight Orchestral Piece” posthumously fulfilling MelodicPony’s dream of having his music played with a live orchestra. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1m7-HzppeI I know he would’ve been so proud and I hope this was the first step in keeping his legacy alive.
