Here’s Scootaloo with her hanai family. In Hawaiian, “hanai” means adopted, and it can refer to legal adoption or close friends who are treated and loved like family. Scootaloo is loved by Rainbow Dash and her parents Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles like family, so the Rainbows are Scoot’s hanai family. Dashie is already her hanai sister, now she has hanai parents.
Scootaloo may or may not be an orphan, but that’s not important to the little filly or the ponies that love her. And dear Celestia… is Rainbow Dash wearing a dress?!?
