I am who I am
Honestly, this whole scene, and what comes out of it, reminds me of what Faye Valentine ultimately learns as her character arc - that something bad happened in the past, and as a result, years of her life were lost, ultimately killing who she used to be. Also, that chasing after those lost years, that lost her, would only cause her to lose her present as well.
At least Misty seems to be in a happier place - she can discover who she used to be if it ever comes back to her, and if not, oh well, she’s not dealing with friends who have their own issues of being stuck in the past
