I am this way with my chips in my electronics lab. Mind you, its so much easier when you have them lined up in the parts tray.
My mentors are the other way around. One will have her tools ontop of eachother in a pouch while she tunes pianos. My other mentor will have any number of items on his desk and electric cables running down a sort of walk way between hammon organs he is fixing.
Yet both have fun stories to hear. Just not as picky about tools and parts like me.
