@LordFlareon
Well if you look at the run time for the episodes its obvious from the start they were built with add blocks in mind. Probably the reason for 22 minute episodes as well as the 44 minute ones. Time left open for add breaks.

@OneAmongOthers
Tbf, even during that long break in-between Winter Wishday (Chapter 3) and Chapter 4, TYT was only a little more profitable than MYM - I’d be interested to see what the numbers look like now with the release of Chapter 4.
Also, I will say that although the plot line definitely got going much more in Chapter 4, I feel that the character writing has always been pretty strong in the CG stuff (so ANG and MYM) especially, but I digress.
There’s also the possibility that it continues in 2025, even if it’s under a different series name (Secrets of Starlight?)
@OneAmongOthers
Well, not so much ending their partnership with them (the slides indicated that the G5 content would remain available on Netflix through at least 2024) as they are syndicating the content to linear TV and FAST streaming services (I wonder if only the CG stuff will be put on linear TV, with TYT only being on those streaming services, or if they’ll put those blocks of 4 episodes stuck together on the linear channels) - either way, it’ll be the first time that ANG and MYM will have ad breaks (since to my understanding, even on the Basic with Ads tier of Netflix, ads are still not shown on kids programming).
I’m kinda hoping they return with an MYM season 2 in 2025, and perhaps even have that long rumored G5 Equestria Girls series.
@OneAmongOthers
Another theory I’ve seen is that since the production time of TYT is so much shorter than MYM, that Critters (or whatever the animation studio that works on TYT in Malaysia is called) already finished the original 70 episode order for season 1 of TYT a while back, so Hasbro saw it was profitable and already ordered a renewal (and since the production time is shorter, they figured out that there could even be 4 22-minute specials in addition to the 48 5-minute shorts we’re getting).
On MYM, Atomic is still wrapping production on Chapter 6 (though it might have just finished by this point, as according to mdash, the Chapter 6 content most likely was in picture lock by the time Chapter 4 released, so post-production work still remained to be done), so it makes sense Hasbro’s waiting to see how it plays out - but perhaps after Chapter 4, there will have been a bump in the numbers so it makes sense to them to renew it. But due to the longer production times, it probably won’t be ready before 2025 (and they probably already realized that by the time they made those slides, hence the focus of TYT being the “one show” in 2024, acting as something to keep the content coming, in case they did decide to renew).
I mean, to me, that seems like the most plausible path to MYM (or something like it) coming back.
@GoodVibesGorgeous
I mean, it could easily be 2026, provided you count the movie premiere as something to build the hype for G5, and then the launch of the IDW comics, TYT, and MYM in 2022 counts as the true launch of this generation.
Besides, from what I gather, MYM’s numbers were not that far off from TYT’s, and that was during that long hiatus between Chapters 3 and 4 - who knows what they look like now.

I think G5 has done a good job of telling a focused story, and so I’m confident that it will have a conclusion. What I was getting freaked out about when those slides first dropped was if it was cancelled in the middle of the story, but at worst, it’s just not renewed - the original order is completed, and so is its self-contained story (even if there are hooks for a potential continuation).

First of all, do you know why season 3 of FiM had only 13 episodes? That’s because Hasbro initially paid for 65 episodes, and wanted to wait until their order was complete before renewing it. That’s actually the norm, because ordering more than 2-3 seasons worth of episodes is a big commitment for most networks. Second, remember how Hasbro initially ordered 76 episodes of TYT? Well, if you do a bit of googling, it turns out that they actually completed that order last year. MYM, in contrast, is only about 2-3rd’s of the way through it’s order right now (remember, it takes six months to produce 20 minutes of animation) Third, and most importantly, could a we a single source that it’s actually failing? And no, people outside its target demographic not liking it doesn’t count (and even if it did, see Velma). Like, just a single source (aside from the movie which we know did make a lot of money)? I mean, the same leak that started this rumor had Hasbro bragging about viewership and toy sales. Granted they may have been exaggerating, but it’s a pretty bold thing to lie to your investors unless you like getting sued. So could it be canceled? Sure, just like any show can be. But it’s a sure thing like some terrible video essays are making it out to be.

Well if Opaline is the only villain we had to see then that’s disappointing. I was looking forward for new villains. Also the old ones like Cozy Glow, Lord Tirek, and Queen Chrysalis because there’re probably still in stone after so many years.

That’s an awful long time. Do you have a source to this? I mean I partly agree because Make your mark did not start releasing until just last year and there was concept and buildup before then. I to am hoping its just a year off to get more production time in and to hopefully see how the show fares once it come out from behind the pay wall of Netflix. Hasbro has already said they are ending their partnership with them and the show is coming to youtube and TV. Time will tell.

Yes I agree… a shame it is. However like I said before if Hasbro didn’t lock it behind a paywall it would have done much better. Also another issue was just the writing was pretty abysmal. Towards the end of chapter four is was getting better, but sadly it doesn’t seem like its continuing. A small hope is that Hasbro hasn’t outright come out and said Mark your Mark is cancelled, so there is a chance they are just waiting to see how it fares when it becomes available on youtube and TV over locked behind the netflix paywall.

@Not Lawrence
Well seeing as how there doesn’t seem to be any planned episodes for Make your mark in 2024, and they are only releasing the rest of season one, I can probably surmise that this chapter (and chapter six), will most likely be the last for make your mark. Shame… It was starting to get good. But alas Hasbro wants their five minute brainless and shallow easy cheap to produce tell your tale for the kiddies to buy toys with. If only they didn’t stick make your mark behind a pay wall it would have probably done better like tell your tale did free on YouTube.

Assuming this is from the first episode of Chapter 5, which seems likely, this was originally supposed to be the final episode of Chapter 4, so it would have been shown before the TYT episode.
