Just for my own experience, Kanji (漢字) and Hanzi (漢字) look very much like each other. Until you write them by hand :) Then the differences are like

国 vs 國

Japanese is to Chinese kind of like Unix is to English. Take the smallest possible number of strokes to express the Hanzi character, then remove one more stroke. Even the first characters in Kanji (kan) and Hanzi (han) look almost identical, until you zoom in. Then you see that extra stroke (or strokes) that makes the difference.
Anyway, getting back to the artist’s amazing and beautiful drawing - the palette is absolutely amazing. It looks like there could have been days, weeks, or even months of work getting her coat just right.

This is absolutely spectacular. I love how you treated the fur as an object instead of the typical strokes of the pencil. A tad bit refressing to see it shadded a bit differently.
