So blaming the princesses for giving this character a reason to be evil is the best that the writers could come up with? It’s not even an original story, they basically recycled Nightmare Moon story.

Stuff like this is rather similar regarding why the setting detail Journal of the Two Sisters had of there being an alicorn homeland is highly questionable, for which I don’t blame G4 for not touching that with a 20 foot pole at any point after: what the hell were they all doing for all this time to not factor into anything, and where did they all go?
