My thought process while writing this page: This is a hard situation for players to relate to other than the home aspect because most players aren’t librarians… Although, they do collect a fair number of books… Are tabletop collectors freelance librarians??

DM: You and the owl manage to land safely.
Twilight Sparkle: That’s something, at least.
DM: Especially considering the state of the tree.
Twilight Sparkle: …Alright, tell it to me straight. How bad is the damage?
DM: It’s an exploded shell of its former self. A diagonal section of the trunk and a couple of branches remain. The rest is smoke, ashes, and paper.
Twilight Sparkle: Paper? I thought I saved all the talking books…
DM: Youdid. You saved all the rare and self-aware books, and all the items near them. But there were other common books that got scattered, scorched, and detonated. Nothing you can’t replace, but…
Twilight Sparkle: Awww, man… Now I’m imagining if all my sourcebooks got blown up.
DM: Oof. Don’t put THAT mental image in my head…
