When the DM has gotten used to being in charge of remembering just about everything and the players mostly just live in the moment, it’s humbling, heartwarming, and concerning all at once when the players start chiming in with notes and lore.

DM: Down in the cavern beneath the castle, you immediately find a tall, five-branched tree made of stone and shards of crystal. There is where the concentration of thorny vines is strongest, wrapped all around this strange tree. Every so often, all the vines squeeze at once, and green ichor drips down from the vine-covered stone branches. Whatever is happening here, it is slow and excruciating.
Rainbow Dash: Wait wait wait. Is this the Tree of Harmony? You know, from the flash-forward session we did with Gallus and the gang in the future?
Pinkie Pie: Maybe, but do WE know what it is?
DM: I can say with absolute certainty that this is a well-guarded secret that none of you would have any right to know about at this time.
Fluttershy: Well, Celestia DID imply a while back that the land itself has its own magic of Harmony…
DM: Am I dreaming? What’s with you all being observant and recollecting all my lore today?
