Whirliverse is essentially just a universe that I won’t do much with, just to have designs for alternate ships I like! I might tweak some of the designs a bit, but ultimately, I like where they are for the most part!

These are the kid’s bios, but you don’t have to read them if you don’t want. The ships are Twilight x Double Diamond, Applejack x Rarity, Rainbow Dash x Cheese Sandwich, Pinkie Pie x Discord, and Sombra x Sunburst x Fluttershy!

Name: Polar North
Nickname(s): Bear, Polar, Polly (pronounced “pully”)
Parents: Double Diamond (father), Twilight Sparkle (mother)
Species: Unicorn

Cutiemark: A camera with a rendering of a star in the lens.
Talent: Photography
Backstory:
Before Twilight was born, her parents actually met at a ski resort. This lead to them taking a yearly trip to the ski resort in order to celebrate their anniversary, while allowing Twilight and Shining to take breaks from their respective studies. At once of these trips, Twilight met an avid snowboarder, a foal named Double Diamond. He had a bit of a troubled past, but found solace in the slopes. She found this very interesting and struck up a friendship with him, even as a young filly. Every year she returned around the same time, and he was there, a constant attendee to the resort. However, once Twilight became Celestia’s student, she stopped going back to the resort, though she never forgot her friend. They were reunited once again after the whole Our Town incident, where Twi invited him to catch up over coffee. This soon blossomed into them dating, and eventually they married. He is a himbo, she’s a smart princess, it works.

Polar North, also called “Bear” affectionately, is a naturally buff stallion with a love for photography. He doesn’t take after either of his parents and is more of an adventurer, going hiking to find the best shots in Equestria. While he does specialize in night shots in the snow, he loves every type of view and is almost always away from home. His close friends would definitely describe him as friendly, a bit airheaded, but well-meaning and polite.

Name: Midnight Sunshower

Cutiemark: A pink flower with a black centre that seems to be “melting” and dripping off the flower.
Talent: Antidote creation and poisonous plant research.
Backstory:
While it’s not completely known how her parents got together, it is known how they came to know each other. Fluttershy of course met Sunburst when the whole commotion with Sombra happened, and they became friends because of this. However, it was unexpected when Fluttershy and Sunburst were tasked with actually rehabilitating Sombra after his plans failed. Initially, the arrangement was that Sombra was to stay at Fluttershy’s cottage, away from the Crystal Empire, and with Flutter’s gentle guidance, he would learn to be kind. Every other week, he would go to the Crystal Empire disguised and learn to control his magic from Sunburst. However, this plan did not last long, getting costly very quick, and eventually Fluttershy offered for Sunburst to stay at her cottage as well. Something about lack of bedrooms (Sombra was already sleeping on the couch), yadda yadda, they all started to get close, emerging from the whole ordeal a very tight knit and surprisingly healthy throuple.

Midnight Sunshower was born unexpectedly, a bit of an oopsie pregnancy (think “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant”), with a surprising mix of her three parents’ DNA present. Due to this, she had some health issues, but overcame them as she grew up. Now she is a chill but spunky lady with a love for poisonous plants. She concocts antidotes for them and often experiments with different types of poisons with no real intention. Just for research purposes really. She is a batpony due to Sombra’s dark magic mixing with Fluttershy’s flutterbat blood and overall just effecting her appearance, but she finds it neat and her claws are very helpful. Plus, her excellent sense of smell gives her a good way to smell poisonous plants.

Name: (Doctor) Whirligig
Nickname(s): Whirls, Whirl, Gigs, Doc
Parents: Discord (father), Pinkie (mother)
Species: Draconeqqus
Gender/pronouns: Male (he/him)

Talent: Dentistry
Backstory:
Pinkie and Discord had gotten along pretty well for ages. After Discord’s reformation process was in motion, Pinkie offered to help him create an outlet for his chaos magic and how to deal with an overabundance of energy by creating baked goods. This would prove to be a perfect coping mechanism. He would spend hours with Pinkie and it was clear they were getting closer as well; they seemed to just get each other, and even balanced each other out. Soon enough, this friendship blossomed into romance and they eventually had a baby. No marriage for them, though; even if it would present a good opportunity to make a big wedding cake, it feels a bit odd for a mortal pony to marry an immortal god. They mutually agreed to at least wait longer for it.

Whirligig, or more commonly, Doc, is a fairly mellow fellow who is a mix of his father’s more mischevous side and Pinkie’s family’s more deadpan mannerisms. He is incredibly smart and has a knack for magic, but the only thing is, he has a big interest in health and mainly in dental health. His claws make things a lot more fine tuned and accurate, which makes his practice sought-after. He operates mainly in Canterlot, but does travel to provide dental services to ponies who are down and out for free. He has very smooth movements and actually comes off as very flirtatious when not in professional settings. (Yes, he’s based on Scar from the Lion King, I love him)

Name: Riptide Coral Reef “Riptide Reef”
Nickname(s): Coral, Corry, Reef, Rip, Riptide
Parents: Cheese Sandwich (father), Rainbow Dash (mother)
Species: Pegasus
Gender/pronouns: Genderfluid (they/them mainly, but can be he/him or she/her as well)
Cutiemark: A wave with a surfboard in it
Talent: Reef preservation and surfing
Backstory:
Rainbow Dash was always one for attending sports events. Whether it be hoofball, aerial events, flying shows, surf shows, races, you name it, she was there. It was her life and when she got into the wonderbolts, her fame made getting into shows hard. Enter Cheese Sandwich of all ponies; they had known each other briefly after they had met, however, hadn’t thought too much of each other. But because of his business, he was able to provide special seating for her that wasn’t in the Wonderbolts seating area, where everyone would expect. This made her enjoyment of the show a lot less stressful, not having to worry about others recording her. Both of them slowly started to look forward to their get-togethers, then almost unintentionally fell into a fairly domestic relationship when they started staying at each other’s places the night before big events. Eventually they confessed and have a great relationship! They decided to have Corry mutually and are great parents and an even better team, with their energy matching.

Riptide Reef is an energetic pony with a never-ending stream of words coming from their mouth, passionate in everything they do and factual to no end. They always aimed high for their goals and are actually pretty good at motivating others, too. Their main talent and passion is conservation of the oceans and frequently teams up with the Seaponies for cleanup, rehabilitation, and other things! They get along well with their parents and are often with them when attending sports events.

Name: Lady Blue Pearmain
Parents: Rarity (mother, “mom”), Applejack (mother, “mama”)
Species: Earth pony
Gender/pronouns: Female (she/her)
Cutiemark: A microphone with a blueish-purple apple as the “head” of it
Talent: Singing solo
Backstory:
Applejack and Rarity have always had their differences, that was for sure. But they always have also gotten along well together, despite this. They seem to have always had a second sense towards how the other was feeling, plus how to get the other cheered up, what things they each wrestle with and how to comfort each other, and much more. Aside from all this though, there was one thing they had in common; mutual attraction. There was always something that drew each other to, well, each other. At first they didn’t say anything as they both thought their feelings were unrequited and didn’t want to ruin their friendship. However, eventually, they both admitted things in a life-and-death situation. When they came out of that situation alive, they decided to try things out. This “trying things out” ended in them getting married and having a daughter!

Blue Pearmain, or Lady Blue, is a very lovely lady with a beautiful voice. Much like her uncle Big Mac, she has a knack for singing, though hers is a more solo act. Her personality is generous and honest, which is pretty good considering her mothers’ elements. Overall she is very sweet and shy and tends to only shine with confidence on stage. She sounds like Vera Lynn (a popular wartime singer!) when she sings, but her normal voice is more akin to Fluttershy’s, soft and quiet and elegant.
