Honestly, I feel like Rarity would be more into uppers like dex. The sort of thing that would help her keep her figure and give her lots of energy to get her millions of projects done. Mood swings? You know it. Occasional paranoia? Oh boy.

I was prescribed dexedrine for 15 years and I’ve also (snorted) ketamine. They are very different (stimulant vs. dissociative) and appeal to people for different reasons. As a longtime recreational drug user, I can tell you from experience that some personality types prefer one type over the other.

Rarity does not strike me as the sort of pony who like to let things get out of her control. Letting her inhibitions lower a little through a glass of wine or a joint is one thing, but taking a dissociative like ketamine is taking yourself out of touch with reality, and therefore not in control of your actions. Ketamine belongs to a category of chemicals called dissociatives, named so because the user can experience dissociation from reality, loss of identity and delusions. Related drugs are angel dust (PCP), salvia and DXM (in cough syrup). A chemical like dexedrine, on the other hand, helps one to focus. Long term use with high doses can lead to paranoia and mood disturbances as well.

All that being said, I’ve done all of these except for coke because fuck cocaine. I also don’t drink anymore.

TL:DR Rarity should be a motorhead, not a k-hole space cadet.

Wouldn’t know, I’ve never injected ketamine. I’ve only snorted it, nose-candy style.
 
I had a good time that way, but then again, even on drugs I don’t tend to party super hard. I just ended up playing video games and cards with my friends.

Too much acid these days is a synthetic compound with similar effects to LSD but not technically the same thing. Unfortunately, to get some of those similar effects, they have to cut it with speed. Just be careful and don’t take too many hits at once. Cardiac arrest is no joke, yo.

Yes, though it’s used in human medicine as well as sedation and a major painkiller.
 
Rarity definitely seems more the coke type. Dash would be meth.

Also, considering coke is often seen by the rich crowd as a “designer drug”, I’d have pegged Rarity for it as opposed to Dash. Pretty sure she’d have come into contact with it while up in Canterlot on business at least once.

Yes, but when imbibed in certain ways, such as when snorted, it affects the user much like PCP does (or other dissociatives, really). And angel dust will fuck your shit up, trust me.

I’d think prescription stimulants would be Twilight’s thing, weed would be for Flutters, heroin for Flutters, Ecstasy for Pinkie, painkillers for AJ and coke for Rarity.

MDMA would fit Pinkie :)
