To be fair, it took Seven seasons to introduced the parents of all the Mane Six. Let’s see if the new show does it quicker.
 
Hitch is the most likely one with both parents still alive but offscreen. Izzy’s parents may be alive, too, but probably don’t live in Bridlewood. Zipp and Pipp’s dad is most likely death, because otherwise we would’ve seen him as part of the Royal Family. Or, which is less likely, he may have left Zephyr Heights for unexplained reasons.
 
As fur Sunny: Yep, Argyle is as dead as AJ’s parents. The show made it as obvious as it could be without mentioning the word death. And since we never saw Sunny’s mom in the childhood flashback she probably death, too. Although I have the headcanon that Sunny’s mom may have been a non-Earth Pony and is somewhere out there.

I like this idea. Magic has a delicate balance on life. Too much… And well… Not good.

But really why pull a Disney and kill all the parents, she was already a single-father Science foal or something and then her dad dies by the time she’s 20. Applejack was the only one who didn’t have 2 parents in G4, and now I don’t know if any of the new mane cast have both parents.

He died of natural causes at the age of 45, because the lack of magic lowered the Earth Ponies’ lifespans.
