I have like immediate thoughts, we don’t know a lot about Hitch yet but he seems a lot like “tries to be cool and tough and a hero but is actually a softy and a bit of a clumsy dork and tries too hard and just wants to fit in and help people and get praised “
whiiiich incidentally overlaps with Disc who’s always wanted to be accepted and be helpful even if he’s done it in allll the wrong ways

He’s not openly malicious anymore but grief is a cruel mistress… but he’s mellowed out now.

Hitch has lived with chaos all his life ! Maretime Bay is a beach town, and chaos is in every curl of late autumn waves lapping at the cliffside and the tumble and titter of young foals.
Meeting Discord is startling then fascinating then terrifying and then aching.
Hitch always wants to help people, he wants to rescue and soothe and be a rock for others !
And wow this big old god sure needs someone to put in extra effort for him right now

And the first time Discord sees him the butter yellow fur definitely reminds him of Shy and he’s so so guilty because that’s why he allows Hitch to approach him, but then quickly grows to adore and crave the warmth in sunny yellow eyes for their own sake.

Little tumbling visits and cautious offers of hair brushing and fur grooming turn into long talks and snickers when Discord does chaos magic and baffles Hitch who’s grown up mostly without magic (until the movie ofc)
Long slow gentle recovery and falling in love basically
