These is a pony meant to represent the Country of Japan, where my friend is from :3
Meet Ohasu :3
She is the founder and owner of an orphanage, that contains her and the ponies Hanako, Anime-Chan, and Hera-Chan. :3
She was a former warrior, who hunted down and defeated monsters and demons from attacking her land. After many years of fighting, she decided to retire and make her own orphanage, to help care and house less fortunate ponies.
Despite her tough and stern appearance, she is actually very soft and caring, valuing the safety of those she protects, and is a good mare at heart :)
