I mean just look at her~
What’s your point? FOE and FO3 have brought many hours of enjoyment to people’s lives, including mine. Are you trying to make people feel bad for liking something? Are you trying to make you feel better about yourself for being so above it all? What is your intention?
You wouldn’t deliberately walk into a room in real life that is generally populated with fans of something you don’t like, and then start loudly shitting on that thing, would you?
I dunno… Maybe you would.
I’m leaving this comment in the hopes it actually reaches though to you. You might do well with turning off the computer, going outside, and spending some time interacting with humans in the real world.
thanks
Only degenerates like me boop themselves.
Hey, I said to take it to the appropriate thread for this discussion.

We all have our opinions for the games we like and don’t. My favorites are my own, your favorites are yours. Simple answer to basic opinions that doesn’t need to turn to a heated argument.
As for the uploader for the gif above. Cute Pip.
You’re the one who started this. And comments for images should be about the image, not general conversations. I’ll read your post if you post there and not under images where it doesn’t belong.
“Conversations and using speech to get more intel is still a thing in 3. No idea who told you otherwise.”
That’s the tip of the iceberg of what the speech mechanic in Fallout 1, 2, and NV does, and you should know that. There’s no comparing those and FO3. You can talk to anyone in those three games and have a pacifist run if you want. Try doing that in the vault escape sequence in FO3.
“That’s to prevent characters from dying and softlocking you”
You can kill anyone in that NV, and there are myriad of ways the game gives you to still continue on the quest. You cannot be soft-locked in that game unless you build your character poorly. There are not immortal characters to do the game for you in 1, 2, and NV.
“I fail to see how you building your character over years”
It’s just the most downloaded mod on the Nexus, that’s all, aside from the rebalancing of the weapons that actually make the guns work the way they’re supposed to. Even the majority of people who like Fallout 3 hated the vault sequence; it’s just an hour or two of nothing. Your dad makes all the real decisions, and you’re just following him around while the game forces you to be a murderer. Choices!
Players had to fix the beginning with mods.
“since every skill but speech is a % chance”
Except there’s no way to tell which one is the correct answer, even with a high percent chance. You actually had to think about what you said, not just pick the one with a giant this is the right choice option. It isn’t just a speak check; you had to do research and talk to everyone. That’s how you beat The Master in the first one without firing a single shot.
“Megaton.”
“Hi, do you want to be the world’s biggest monster for no reason?”
What choices. I either be a “good” guy or a genocidal maniac.
Imagine a game where I can do things I think is best instead of just blowing up a town because of the “purity of light” it makes.
They didn’t even bother making it a town worth blowing up, like it was a slavery town, and nuking it would be easier, but the innocent slaves and nearby towns would be affected—nope! Just be a huge monster for no real reason.
Choices!
“That was changed with the Broken Steel DLC that added a postgame.”
So either they caved into customer demand and folded like a house of cards, or that was the plan from the beginning to leach more money. Hmm~ The fact they didn’t think of that in the first place is very suspicious.
I hope you have a save, then! If not, then…whoops!
“Pretty sure I played FO3 and NV on normal”
FO3 has combat scaling, so it’s easy no matter what. NV doesn’t have scaling.
Guess which one is a “grind” and “boring.”
“And we have a Video Game thread to continue this conversation.”
Yeah—no thanks.
Something tells me neither of us is gonna get anything out of this.
FoE may have been mostly based around 3, but it brings in many elements of other games like the Master from 1 and the Sierra Madre from NV.
Conversations and using speech to get more intel is still a thing in 3. No idea who told you otherwise.
That’s to prevent characters from dying and softlocking you, like I had happen in Morrowind and a side quest. It would be great if more NPCs were protected (Can only be killed by the player) instead of essential (can’t be killed period), but I rather the game prevent me from going on pointless killing sprees than to make it easy to lock me out of content for things outside of my control.
I fail to see how you building your character over years and getting used to your home before you are forced to leave and feel some form of lost attachment and investment is a bad thing. It’s much better than NV where it’s just a personality quiz.
So like FO2, only 3 doesn’t call you the Chosen One for being away for being lucky for being AFK when the vualt is raided.
That’s just one part of 3. You also invade the water plant by yourself, your companion (if you have one), and Sarah Lions, the head of the BOS’s special unit. You also choose what happens to the wasteland (the choice is to get the purifier to work, poison it to kill ghouls and other “unsavories,” or let it blow up).
You never played 1 or 2 than, since every skill but speech is a % chance (though it can be 100% for almost all dialogue checks once you get it high enough), where in 3 only speech are %. NV is the only one where it’s a flat skill check, which was the best in my opinion.
Megaton. You are offered money to blow it up because a rich fellow says it obscures his view from his suite. You can also permanently disable the nuke the down is named after and report the guy to the sheriff for good karma. And the character is Moira Brown. She isn’t the only quest giver in the town, but her quest is a multi-part quest with a great reward, making you want to do it if you are willing to do each quest and their bonus requirement for the best reward. And you can still kill her afterwards even if she is a ghoul, before or after completing the quest.
That was changed with the Broken Steel DLC that added a postgame. Still says your a coward for it though, because reasons.
Pretty sure I played FO3 and NV on normal. NV is just Boring. And we have a Video Game thread to continue this conversation.
The fact that they took out the talking mechanic in Fo3 almost entirely makes that statement completely false.
Or that plot-important characters can’t be killed.
Or the entire vault sequence at the start.
Or that it’s a story at you, and you don’t have any real agency.
Or that you don’t do anything at the end and just let the giant robot do everything.
Or that you could just save scum for 100% checks for dialog.
Or that it has a town you can blow up for no reason (and thinking it’s some sort of moral quandary???), except that one woman survives anyway because she’s a mission giver.
Or that you have a radiation immune ally who refuses to do the last mission because of DeStInY.
F:NV is the game Fo3 wished it was in every way. Fo3 is easy mode with difficulty scaling; of course you’re going to think NV is a “slog.”
I highly disagree. FO3 felt more inline with F01 than FO:NV does. And I’d say that 3 is better than NV and 1, the latter due to less annoying and dated mechanics and the former is a slog to play through. And at least all three are more fun to play than FO2.
FoE original glory.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
FoE is just Fallout 3 with some name and phrase changes with the writing and grammar ability of someone going through a rock tumbler.
It’s a bad fanfic on a bad game done by a bad company that doesn’t understand what made Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas good.
@Background Pony #D283
Just her and Homage’s presence makes not that good writing divine - it’s magic I shouldn’t even explain…
Anyway, good luck watching Hasbro’s official attempt to emulate fOE’s original glory in G5
This is Littlepip, the main character from a fan fiction series called Fallout: Equestria. It sucks.
elaborate please
