My biggest worry is that they aim it squarely at young girls, and become “just another girl’s show”. Basically the opposite of what Faust was going for when she made G4.

Princess Spike in season 5 is the first episode that is very boring and predictable on what would happen in the next scene. For this reason, I think this episode explains the kind of episode that can disappoint me.

Like a clipshow where one of the characters mispronounces someone else’s name,and all the old clips are redubbed by random voice actors were they got at the last minute?

I don’t want to see low effort low quality episodes.

Ok, i will not. The last two seasons sucked, there were still some good episodes but the seasons still sucked overall. Although there are completely different writers for the film so it might be not so bad.

I mean the film will start out as that and around the climax or whatever it will be revealed the mane six is evil just for the sake of having a twist. “Never meet your heroes” or some crap will be the moral.

What would disappoint me is if it doesn’t click with the generation that it’s intending to aim for, because that’s what really matters. And, if older fans don’t like it, it would disappoint me if they didn’t step back and ask honestly whether the show is bad or if it’s just something not being made to cater solely to them.
 
 
The messages that we’ve heard from the show so far like promoting diversity really doesn’t have any ideological bent. The fact is Generation Alpha, who are going to be the primary target audience of the show, are in North America the most diverse generation to date, and the show needs to have a message that is important to them and will stick with them. I’m a millennial, two generations removed from the target audience now, so it very well may be that the message that resonates with that generation will not resonate with me. And I’m okay with that. Just because something isn’t for me doesn’t make it bad or disappointing.

Maybe, but to what extent? I’m still optimistic the leanings of the show aren’t as far-left as people think.

Not knowing that Sunset Shimmer was the one who absorbed all magic in Equestria because she is such a paradox that there is no way Equestria can have magic with her around. Her teenager and mare forms were combined and she became this ultimate being of perfection.

Dissappointment that could could be is making everyone useless, Izzy being annoying like Pinkie Pie and bad reformations.

I actually like that g5 in taking place in the same world as g4, this means the world that we’ve watched been built over those nine years isn’t just gonna be tossed away. In g4 we always heard about the great starswirl and clover the clever, while some episodes touched on their backstory we never really got to know them. Now the great and ancient heroes are Twilight and other mane 6, characters who we’ve watched go through just about everything so when they get mentioned, it actually means something.

Personally, I don’t understand why people are so opposed if there will be references to G4 content, even if it is confirmed that the movie and the series will be a sequel set in the same Equestria, the only difference is that it is set in the future with new characters and that the species will become divided.  
When the movie was announced, it was also said that they wanted to expand the lore and the world we already have, so it’s no news that surely some G4 references will be there, otherwise it wouldn’t make sense to announce it as a sequel and set it in the same world, but there are still people who have problems with this and that think what happened before the G5 doesn’t have to exist.  
I see many are still confused about this.

Don’t be like the other massive disappointment from Netflix.

I have high hopes that g5 will be alright, so only thing that would majorly disappoint me is if it’s anything like pre-g4. Considering how Hasbro knows there’s a lot of bronies I’m hoping they wouldn’t take the show in that direction but you never know.
 
Sorry to anyone that likes pre-g4 but I just can’t watch it, I’ve tried but a lot of it is uninteresting and generally cringe.
