The USS Sunset Shimmer makes first contact with Equestria after Captain Shoichet discovered where the ship’s namesake truly originated from.

Before that happened, Q told Shoichet that Sunset Shimmer isn’t a human at all. She is, in fact, a pony transformed into a human.
