Felix is the only son of Stygian and Star Tracker. He grew up in a loving home, with two loving parents. He was born in Canterlot, but actually grew up in a small hut built in a forest outside the city. Stygian, due to the difference in culture from the time he originated from, is uncomfortable in society, so he mostly stays outside of cities, sticking to small towns and villages.  
Once Felix grew up, he moved into the city and became a somewhat well known stand up comedian. And now he travels around Equestria performing for audiences wherever he is invited to go.
