now that you mention it, my ipod did try to update a couple days ago but failed. it’s possible that the differences could just be that my ios isn’t EXACTLY up to date. (in case you’re wondering the ipod is still functional, just slightly out of date)

Well, I think all Apple devices that come with the classic Home screen setup of having the Home button on the bottom with two large bezels on the top and bottom would look like this. After all, the lack of the notch that you find in other Apple devices means that the clock can be placed in the center instead of to the side, clearing up a lot of space. The fact that this iPod seems to be running the latest version of iOS, which your iPod is also running, suggests that it is the newer model, since many of the older models lost support for the newest iteration of iOS.

that’s the thing, the ipod touch i have is the latest model, hence the reason why the differences are subtle. mine’s the 7th generation which for the most part looks exactly like this.

If I were to guess, this is one of the ‘newer’ iPod Touch models, released after the other iPod models (Nano, Shuffle) were discontinued.  
And no, to have this many photos stored on it, I definitely don’t think this was the low end 32 GB model.

i noticed some very subtle differences between that ipod touch and mine, but that’s irrelevant. all i can say is there’s no way that’s the low end 32gb model
