Much like Flurry, she’s bubbly, energetic, and adventurous. As a young unicorn filly, she always knew she was meant to be on stage, but struggled advancing in her dreams. She constantly lost roles, was out-sung by other fillies, and was almost always told “no”. She knew what she wanted to be, but it didn’t seem like the universe agreed with her. At night, she’d look up at the moon–when she was really little, she thought it was following her, and considered it her number one fan. Even now that she was older, she still sent all her hopes and dreams toward the moon and wished it would pull her up toward the stars.
As the years passed, Candy remained without her dreams and consequently, without a cutie mark. She became insecure and feared she would never get one, so she did everything she could to make it happen. When she heard about a strange burst of magical energy at the peak of a mountain she lived by, she set out to climb it in hopes that magic might lead to her mark. When she was nearly to the peak, she stumbled and fell onto a ledge far up from the ground. Her magic wasn’t strong enough to teleport yet, so she was stuck where she was. As night fell, she sent her tearful wishes toward the moon.
Without warning, a burst of magic brought forward Princess Luna. Candy stared in awe as the Princess of the Night spoke to her. Luna shared that ponies were still wary of her, but Candy’s wishes toward the moon had reassured her that there was goodness in her night. She then aimed her horn toward Candy and wings sprouted from the young unicorn. Luna told her that she could now always fly up to the moon and be with the stars.
Candy doesn’t get her cutie mark right away, but she does eventually reach her dreams and earn it: a twinkling diamond star.
An oc I have is also with the same name and I just wanted to let you know how good your backstory is. I searched for some drawings with her name tag and found your description here, and it inspires me a lot to see such a nice story at a description of one of the pictures, thank you for sharing it out!
