It’s probably because they thought if they only did male characters there wouldn’t be R34 of the scenes, but one only has to look at Movie Sonic to see that being a male character doesn’t prevent R34 of the poot scenes.

Funnily enough, I have seen some people complain about this scene - just not for that reason, but rather because they didn’t like the fact that it was a male character farting.

Sad thing is; People would probably notice this scene and even though it may be the only time someone farted, they would say it happens all the time in this show just so viewers could milk (incorrect) comparisons to that other show as much as possible.
