Not everyone is as technophobic as you are, when it comes to their bodies. Prosthetics only partially restore the function of the lost limb, but cybernetics would instead enhance.
That’s probably a sign of you being an unhealthy individual then.

They should speak for themselves. I’d give both legs to be a cyborg.
‘Cept that nobody who gets a prosthetic thinks they’re ‘lucky’. They think that their humanity’s been devalued or compromised. Because they’re not “whole” anymore. There’s major suicide rates for amputees and a mess of psychological issues. Full-body conversion with cybernetics is something that’d mess you up in the head.
That could work too.
