Another one of my favorite families, mostly because they all have great designs ^^
 
Cheerilee and Redheart had known each other since grade school, often having scheduled play dates on the weekends or working on homework and school projects together. They were good buddies, extending their friendship into adulthood. Their schedules were always busy, with Redheart becoming a nurse at the local hospital and Cheerilee now having a class of her own, but even if it took months of planning, they always managed to find a time to catch up. No matter how much time passed in between their chats, their friendship never seemed to waver. They just picked up where they left off.
 
It was Redheart who started crushing on Cheerilee first, but was unsure if it was just that she appreciated someone who was always there for her or that she wanted to be with Cheerilee romantically. She stayed quiet about it until she was sure about her feelings, which was around the same time that Cheerilee was mentioning that her students wanted to know if she had a special somepony for the upcoming Hearts and Hooves Day, and she nervously asked if it would be weird if she wanted Redheart to be her special somepony. Redheart was adamant about the fact that no, it wasn’t weird, and also how happy she would be to be Cheerilee’s special somepony. They took things slow, each one having at least a bit of fear of ruining their long-time friendship, but time made it clear that the right partner for them was their best friend. They moved in together after awhile, when they felt they were ready, and living in the same house made everything fit into place for them. Within less than a couple of years, they were happily married and Cheerilee was starting the conversation of the possibility of their own little foal. Later, when she found out she was pregnant, she thought they were the most excited about having a baby, until she told her students. They got to work thinking of names and making cards for the baby, and of course spreading the word to their parents, who were quick to congratulate the two and send presents with their kids to school all throughout her pregnancy.
 
Once Cherry Syrup was born, the ponies who wanted to see her most was Cheerilee’s students (not a huge shock there). The sweet little filly was born a healthy weight and as chunky as could be, even though she was overdue, which was every earth pony’s dream for their child. She spent her baby days either swaddled in a wrap against Cheerilee’s chest during school, since Redheart couldn’t take care of the baby while she worked at the hospital, or with a babysitter at their house. Fortunately, no matter if Cherry Syrup had to go to work with Mommy or be taken care of by a family friend, she was happy as long as she was fed.
